    • Description:
The only musical RV campground reviews using original music anywhere: Here we are on the road again. This time we visited Rustic Sands Resort Campground in Mexico Beach, Florida. We decided to spend Christmas with them and to get away from the usual Holiday Family affair. On Christmas Eve we started our journey east. Wouldn't you know, it started with a rain that wouldn't stop and the wind was blowing more than me after some Chili with Beans? When we arrived we turn into the campground and the road must have been used as a firing range. I'm talking about some big ass craters! We were rocking back and forth like a boat in a storm. Note: this area has been hit with a unusual amount of rain fall. We picked this campground because it is rustic and rustic it is. The place is set in a stand of old and tall pine trees with little ponds and lakes throughout and around the park area. This place looks and feels like your back in time, like the old south you always heard of... Everyone is friendly and the owners made you feel at home. You are in walking distance to the Gulf of Mexico and just miles away from charming Forgotten Coast towns like Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas, Apalachicola, and Panama City Beach. We tried a local restaurant called Toucan's. I read some bad reviews about this place and I have to disagree. I found the food to be wonderful and the service outstanding. You do need to look at your bill because I found they charged me for something they shouldn't have and this was mention in the reviews I read. All and all I found the campground to be nice and we enjoyed staying there. It does need some work on the roads and updating the facilities. They take many discount cards like Good Sam Club and Passport America and at our rate of $18.50 a day is a deal. We will return to the resort in the woods. The First RV.

      By Jerry

Once upon a time way back when...

There was a Magic Snail with a Magic Shell and he was admired by all far and near. He was fast, he could drive and he could fly like a Bee in the sky.

One day a very cold Ms. Turtle saw the Magic Snail with a Magic Shell and ran up to him begging him to grant her a wish. "What is your wish'', if I may ask? "To have a shell I can call home", she replied. The Magic Snail with a grin on his face, said sure. But this you must do first. Tap your cute little turtle ruby red pumps together and say this over and over "Make me a Turtle Girdle (a shell in the words of a female) that I can call home.  That can protect me from all that's wrong and to keep me warm on the nights, that I'm alone. Forever and ever...

A cute little video for the whole family. Written by me, music by me and video editing by me. Permissions granted to use animation.

       Enjoy!

Anchors Aweigh RV Resort 19814 County Road 20 South Foley, AL 36535 Phone: 251.971.6644 http://www.anchorsaweighrv.com/ http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Alabama/Foley.html We spent 2 nights here and were pleasantly surprised. Our site was on an extra long pull-thru which was level and easily accommodated our 28 foot “Old Fart-Mobile Motor home". They do take classic Rvs if it is in good condition! Cable and Wi-Fi worked well and were included in the charge. The swimming pool was never crowded and the spa was warm and inviting. They have paved roads, good neighbours, and a very friendly, helpful office staff. There was plenty of room to walk the dogs and also an enclosed dog run. The park is close to Lamberts Restaurant (a must), the Tanger outlet mall and the beaches. The only problems is the lack of mature trees which will come in time and the directions to the park. There are two County Road 20 South. We are looking forward to staying there again

I love this time of year, but it requires me to work many more hours than usual which makes it hard for me to find time to work on the motor home as needed.  Fortunately this year my schedule for the next two weeks is normal.  I'll make up for these easy weeks in the following two weeks around Christmas, but that's to be expected.

Every spare minute I've had since I worked on the roof, has been plagued by rain.  I did get a chance during one of the breaks in the precipitation to add some temporary patches to the roof, in hopes they will hold till the weather turns better.  So while I was waiting for the break in the weather, I began work on the inside of the motor home.

Roof Repairs -- Day One Tue, Nov 10. 2009

I started the repairs on the roof today, and found the progress to be a lot slower than I had anticipated. Why do many people simply put caulking on top of old caulking to stop leaks? Yes it’s quicker that way, but if you takes the time to do it right, the results will last a whole lot longer, and protect your investment a whole lot better.

      It has Arrived!

My new (used) RV arrived last night after a 900 mile trip from GA to IN, most of it in the rain, and without any problems – other than the co pilots windshield wiper didn’t work right, and the propane ran out and my brother couldn’t get it filled because of a missing washer. Oh well if something had to go wrong, and I’m
glad it was so simple. Continue reading "It has Arrived!"

    • Description:

Happy Camping from "The Grand Canyon State of Arizona" and from the Housholder family to yours, "Welcome" to Boondocking in Arizona, your DVD video guide to thousands of FREE RV Camping locations across this great state.  If you are planning a winter trip to the warm desert around Quartzsite or a cool summertime excursion to see the Grand Canyon, if you are a native who enjoy's the Boondocking lifestyle, these video's are made just for you!

Each DVD will save you thousands of dollars in overnight accommodations and have been made exclusively for the RV'ing crowd.  Best of all our award winning DVD's include not only the choicest FREE overnight boondocking locations, but also are packed with wholesome family activities, fantastic hiking trails, intense backroading adventures, hidden swimming holes, cool clear mountain fishing lakes, historic treasures, delicious diners and cafe's and beautiful nature photography.  They show you easy descriptions of how and where to set up base camps nearby the best attractions Arizona has to offer.

For example: "WE SAVED ALMOST $2000.00!" On Memorial Day weekend in 2008, the single busiest of the entire year at the Grand Canyon, with a Troop of Boy Scouts (well over 20 in our group), we stayed for FREE with two trailers and six tents, near a wonderful location close to the South Rim entrance of the canyon as found in DVD number three. This secret spot, was only two miles away from civilization. For three nights we paid nothing! Yes, ZERO! Our only expense was for hot showers at a campground for just $2.00 per person! Our location was fantastic, quite and far from the noise of the regular tourist traffic. Normally, if you have never tried to reserve a hotel room at the Grand Canyon for a popular holiday weekend, you must pay top dollar, and do so at least 4 to 6 months in advance, otherwise you will hear; "I'm sorry we are all sold out!" Good luck waiting with others on a possible cancellation and have fun driving over 65 miles to Williams or Flagstaff to secure a room.

Now lets say you were a group of 20 who planned early enough and paid for 5 hotel rooms with four people in each room for 3 nights. What would that cost? Lets do the math: 5 basic rooms X $120.00 each night (quite possibly much more for 4 people) = $600.00 X 3 nights is a whopping $1,800.00 not including an additional $100.00 in taxes verses FREE! A Boy Scout Troop would have to save up lots of money for that or pay the cost of $20.00 each plus shipping for the priceless information found only in these DVD's!
